DENTISTRY FOR KIDS & TEENS
We want to partner with you to decide what treatment is best for your child.
Dr. Schick and his staff want your children to have good dental health.
Unfortunately, we see numerous children, with severe dental decay, who are in pain. We want our patients to be cavity-free, and then they can avoid those fillings, crowns, root canals and extractions! Therefore, it is extremely important that children come to the dentist at an early age. Good oral hygiene is very important in the health of your child. Oral hygiene has a significant influence on the prevention of cavities.
When teeth are not cleaned properly and regularly, the decay-causing acids remain in the mouth and on the teeth for a long period of time, leading to enamel that is likely to be weakened and more susceptible to decay. Proper brushing and flossing is key to preventing decay.
Our office sees children starting at age 5. If your child has dental needs that we feel are best handled seeing a pedodontist, we will refer your child for treatment. We want your child to have the best dental experience possible to prevent lifelong fear and anxiety. We want your child to eagerly anticipate their next dental visit. If you have any questions about the oral health of your child, please do not hesitate to call our office.
Teaching your children at a young age to care for their teeth can help them avoid dental problems as they get older. Care of children’s teeth and gums should begin even before their teeth break through the gums.
